    A Sartorial Journey: Quality Fabric

The gabardine fabric of our Cortina Chinos is crafted from a tightly woven warp-faced twill weave, resulting in a durable and wrinkle-resistant cloth. The mid-weight handle features added 3% elastane for comfort and ease of wear. Traditionally, gabardine was the fabric of choice for travellers and explorers worldwide. Today gabardine is a versatile and exceptional fabric for suits and casualwear and is often used to make chinos or trousers that can stand the test of time.

They’ll seamlessly adapt to your shape, and thanks to the thoughtful details and luxurious feel on your skin, they may well become your go-to chinos in any smart-casual situation.

    Italian Craft: The Design

In our Italian laboratories, experienced designers reimagine timeless classics by adding a modern touch and subtle details to bring exquisite garments to life. Thanks to skills that have been passed down through generations, seasoned artisans provide a final flourish to all our creations, adding concealed stitching to keep the design clean and ensuring the trousers' quality and size measurements. With the Cortina, this traditional process results in a contemporary garment with a practical and versatile design that will fit most autumn-to-spring outfits.

    Cutting and Tailoring

Cloth cutting is undertaken by machines to ensure the highest level of precision. After cutting the cloth, the Italian laboratories move on to tailoring, where the attention to detail, fabric quality and traditional craftsmanship come into play.

The Cortina features internal double seams to ensure outstanding durability over time. The inner belt has embossed stitching, which keeps the shirt tucked in more easily. The reinforcement in the bar tacks is visible on all pockets, giving further strength to a garment that’s both elegant and highly sturdy. The Cortina fastens with a triple horn button closure and the inside button is hand-stitched by artisans to ensure greater durability.

    Dyeing & Quality Check

The trousers are dyed using a ‘Tinto Capo’ process resulting in a natural harmonious colour throughout. Additionally, dyeing the garment at the end ensures the trousers won’t shrink after the first wash.

The final stage to bring the Cortina chinos to life involves ironing them, first using machinery and then by hand. As is the tradition in the oldest Italian mills, each garment is meticulously checked by expert artisans who assess every detail, from size to stitching. This ensures the quality and durability of the Cortina chinos are aligned with the excellent quality our garments always display.

    48 Hours in Paris

Situated in one of the most prestigious shopping destinations in Paris and steeped in history, we are delighted to announce the arrival of our latest store fittingly located at 10 Place de la Madeleine.

Resplendent in rich, historical architecture so unique to Paris, Place de la Madeleine is perhaps best known today for shopping and a richly diverse and specialist food offering. Once the home of revered French novelist Marcel Proust, the focus of the area centres around the neo-classical architecture of the stunning Madeleine temple featuring Corinthian Columns, which according to Napoleon served as ‘an expression of grandeur and immortal glory’.

Today this location serves as a key link within the city where walking is paramount. Surrounded by history and culture at every turn, a stroll along the River Seine, a visit to the Palace of Versailles, a ballet at the Opera Garnier or even a venture over to the cool hub of the Le Marais district is all achievable and the ideal starting point for a visit to this magical city.
