Craftsmanship: The Hidden Story of Oak Wine Barrels

At the heart of Made in Italy, products are an intersection where craftsmanship and heritage meet with the organic ability to carry an unforced style and creativity.

Winetage is a sustainable, Italian brand that embraces these values, where the history and traditions of wine-making naturally evolve into innovative homeware creations, enhancing the original product’s lifespan and celebrating longevity. This philosophy resonates deeply with Luca Faloni, where timeless design and enduring quality are at the core of our journey.

Mirroring the authenticity of Luca Faloni’s Italian-made garments, where artisanship’s heritage and the communities involved come together, Winetage takes age-old oak wine barrels, each with its own unique story, and transforms them into beautifully mastered pieces.

Interwoven in the cultural legacy of Italian life, Winetage presents an aligned attention to detail, where finer craftsmanship and traditional design principles sit alongside the practical purpose we hold dear at Luca Faloni. Using premium materials and artisanal techniques, both brands create high-quality, classic pieces that embody the enduring beauty of Made in Italy.

From intricately beautifully contemporary lighting, to feature tables and decorative structures, Winetage takes a very organic, natural, and aged material, giving it a new life and purpose to create luxury new-wave classics.

Whether in Winetage’s beautifully repurposed wood or Luca Faloni’s curated wardrobe essentials, the Italian ethos of innovation through heritage shines, proving that the past can be reimagined to enhance the present. Together, we celebrate the beauty of "Made in Italy", timeless, sustainable, and refined. This collaboration extends to our Milan store, where Winetage’s craftsmanship and Luca Faloni’s design philosophy come together in a space that embodies Italian elegance and artisanal excellence.

Style Series with Teo van den Broeke

Words by Teo van den Broeke, style expert and author

I firmly believe that a denim shirt is one of the sartorial cornerstones of any properly-curated masculine wardrobe - comfortable, stylish, and, above all, versatile.

Consider Texan designer and director Tom Ford, who frequently pairs his denim shirts with classic charcoal suits and a chest rug, or the late, great Steve McQueen, who wore his with jeans and a leather jacket. Understated yet sexy, chic yet relaxed, there’s very little a denim shirt doesn’t compliment.

Take Luca Faloni’s classic light blue denim shirt, for example. Made in Italy - the spiritual home of high quality denim - it boasts the brand’s signature “Paramontura” one-piece collar, elegant mother-of-pearl buttons, and a sleek, tailored cut that makes it the perfect layering piece. The shirt is available in a range of hues, from classic and midnight blue to military green and black, but for me, the light blue option offers the simplest way to start your journey into denim shirt supremacy.

It’s also worth noting that Luca Faloni’s denim shirts are built to last. Crafted from closely woven cotton and treated for a vintage feel, the fabric will look better the more you wear it. Plus, thanks to the brand’s meticulous pre-sale washing process, shrinkage is off the table. Genio

To help you master the art of wearing your new denim shirt, I’ve highlighted three key ways to do so this spring - whatever the occasion.

    Denim: Italian Heritage

Italy is widely regarded as the producer of the most prestigious denim garments in the world, thanks to the premium fabrics and artisanal experience that dates to the 19th century.

The manufacturers’ passion for authenticity is what made the art of denim production a “Made in Italy” excellence, where technology and innovation meet traditions passed down through generations. The result is garments that exude artisanal details and are durable and luxurious.

Over the years, Luca Faloni has nurtured a collaborative relationship with Albini, a family-owned business with over a century of textile experience in the world of denim. Today, Albini - with its brand Albiate 1830 - is the leader in creating premium quality denim with an eye on sustainability and Italian tradition. Sharing a passion for authenticity, we aim at promoting Italian denim craftsmanship with superior quality garments.
